Rochester, NY -- July 6, 2016 -- The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival (XRIJF) nine-day 15th Edition, wrapped up Saturday July 2nd with a spectacular finale night of harmony in the heart of Rochester. Tens of thousands of people came from all over the U.S. and world to see 325 concerts with 1500+ artists at 19 venues including more than 90 free shows.
On the last night, the universal language of music brought people together in the center of downtown transforming "Parcel 5" into the new Midtown stage and showcasing a whole new view of the City of Rochester. Surrounded by revitalization and redevelopment the excitement and energy was palpable as Trombone Shortly and Orleans Avenue had the crowd moving and cheering in their sixth appearance at the festival.
"Once again, tens of thousands of jazz festival lovers attended our 15th Anniversary XRIJF, filling the streets and indoor venues to capacity," said producers John Nugent and Marc Iacona. "We are extremely proud of the support within our community, from our team and all the incredible artists who provided our listeners with some of the most amazing performances in our 15-year history. The 2017 festival will be held June 23 - July 1. Club Passes will go on sale this fall and the lineup will be announced in March 2017.
